Supporting Local During The Holidays

Supporting Local During The Holidays

Over the Christmas holiday, Endiem had the pleasure of celebrating the holidays at our new office. While not all of our Houston-based team were able to join the party, all of us received a very special gift from Endiem leadership. This year we were given gift boxes filled with items purchased from Le Wren, a woman-owned local business with national reach, and our holiday dinner was catered by Kin Dee Thai Cuisine, a local eatery that opened amid the pandemic and lock-down.

It’s important to the Endiem team to support small and local whenever possible--especially this year after the rollercoaster most small business owners in our community endured. We enjoy grabbing coffee at independent coffee shops in the ‘hood or getting lunch at one of the many Heights diners and restaurants. We also like the fact that we can stop by an independently owned shop and grab small gifts and cards for our customers. In order to continue to enjoy the perks of this community, we do our part and support them whenever possible.

Endiem also encouraged local-minded giving this year by giving each team member $50 to donate in any charitable way they saw fit. Minella gave to her church. Katy purchased waters, snacks, and essentials for ready-made bags to distribute to the homeless. Cecilia was so inspired by Endiem’s value of giving that she added $50 of her own money to donate to Interfaith Ministries, an organization whose programs include Meals on Wheels and Refugee Services. Maddison donated her gift to #ProjectWarm, a program funded and run by Friends for Life Animal Shelter that distributes shelters designed to keep free-roaming cats safe and warm through the winter. Geraldine included her children in the fun and chose gifts to donate to Toys Of Hope, where 5,000 local children pre-registered to receive gifts. The Gray family also helped Maddison donate supplies to the pet foster program at Friends For Life.

The holidays aren’t the only time you can be supportive of small and local shops, restaurants, churches, and other organizations. Supporting our community is a core value at Endiem, and we strongly encourage everyone around us to find ways to support charities and small businesses in their own communities.
